On behalf of our client, we were awarded a project to demolish Bramston Sports Centre in Witham. The site was protected with full hoardings, gates put in place and chain and link fencing put in place to secure the tennis courts. The swimming pools were drained, a full soft strip completed, removed all mechanical and electrical plant/equipment/sanitary ware/cabling. The water flume was removed with the steel supports and demolished the sports centre structure using approved demolition plants. We removed the roof followed by the 1st-floor walls, 1st-floor structural floors then the ground walls. The ground floor concrete slab was crushed and saved for backfill for the swimming pool voids. On completion of the project the site was cleared and the rear hoardings on the school grounds were relocated to follow the original site boundary. The hoardings were painted with exterior grade paint and left secure. The paths were prepared and new tarmac laid. The only material left onsite was the crushed concrete and bricks which was protected.
