Re-Gen was appointed as the main contractor to refurbish and modernise the three-storey Colchester Townhouse Youth Centre, transforming it into a vibrant and inclusive space for young people.
The project involved a full interior redesign to create flexible, engaging environments that support social, educational, and recreational activities. The refurbishment introduced vibrant colour schemes, creative lighting, modern flooring, and zoned open-plan layouts designed to encourage interaction and learning.
Key facilities include a VR games room, first-floor teaching kitchen with demonstration area, flexible café space, and upgraded sports hall with climbing wall and ceiling-mounted basketball hoops. The basement was also converted into flexible teaching and music spaces, including a recording studio with sound-absorbing panels.
Additional improvements included new unisex and accessible toilets, bespoke joinery, custom furniture, graphics, and signage. The result is a modern, adaptable youth centre designed to attract new members and support a wide range of activities.
