Re-Gen recently undertook major school expansion works at Halling Primary School in Rochester. In response to the local community requirements, the works were to facilitate the change from a 1-form entry to a 2-form entry school, along with a new nursery building. Logistics played a large part of the planning and completion of the works as the school was a live environment throughout much of the programme.
The first stage was the adaption and demolition of parts of the current building to create the space for the new extension and modular unit. The scope required extensive groundworks and new drainage, and installation of the extension works and modular buildings. The design ensured that all products used were of high energy efficiency standard including the external cladding and roofing.
Internal works were finished to a high standard including new ceilings, partitions, kitchen area and services.
