Re-Gen was appointed by the Loxford School Trust to deliver a classroom extension and accessibility improvements at Aldborough Primary School. The project was designed to provide additional flexible learning space and improve access for pupils and staff within the existing school estate.
Working under a JCT Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design, Re-Gen delivered two new small group teaching rooms, a new external access ramp, and improvements to the surrounding external areas, including the installation of a soft play surface to create a safer and more inclusive environment for pupils.
The works were undertaken while the school remained fully operational. Careful planning, coordination with school leadership, and clear site management procedures ensured that construction activities were carried out safely and with minimal disruption to the school day.
Due to access restrictions and the surrounding residential setting, the project required careful management of deliveries, material movement, and site logistics. Robust health and safety controls, including trained operatives, regular toolbox talks, and secure site segregation using Heras fencing, ensured the safety of pupils, staff, and the workforce throughout the programme.
Access routes between compound areas were coordinated with the school to avoid peak pupil circulation periods, and delivery scheduling was carefully managed to work within local parking restrictions.
The completed project provides Aldborough Primary School with additional flexible learning spaces, improved accessibility, and enhanced outdoor play facilities. The scheme demonstrates Re-Gen’s capability in delivering education sector extensions and improvement works safely and efficiently within live school environments, supporting schools and academy trusts to adapt their facilities as pupil needs evolve.
