Project brief

Re-Gen delivered the refurbishment and extension of Priory Vets’ Reigate practice, supporting the continued growth of a veterinary service that has served the Surrey community for over a century. The project was undertaken under a JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor’s Design 2016 and carefully planned to ensure the practice remained fully operational throughout the construction programme.

The development aimed to expand the practice’s clinical capacity while improving the environment for both patients and staff. Works included the reconfiguration of existing treatment areas and the construction of a new purpose-built extension providing additional diagnostic, treatment and hospital facilities.
Delivering construction works within a fully occupied veterinary practice required detailed planning, sequencing and close collaboration with the veterinary team. Appointments, surgeries and emergency treatments continued throughout the programme, with works phased to ensure that essential clinical areas always remained available. Careful coordination of mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades ensured that building services could be modified without interrupting critical operations.

The project also required careful logistics management due to the restricted site footprint and residential surroundings. Re-Gen implemented a managed site compound and controlled delivery strategy to minimise disruption to staff, patients and neighbouring properties.

The completed development includes new operating theatres, imaging facilities, specialist treatment spaces and dedicated animal wards, supported by upgraded infrastructure designed to meet modern veterinary care standards.

These improvements enhance Priory Vets’ ability to provide high-quality care and support their commitment to the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, helping the practice progress towards Hospital (Tier 3) status.
